Turn your nouns into adjectives using the Japanese equivalent of ‘-ish’,〜っぽい」, just attach「〜っぽい」after a noun to make it adjective-ish! See ↑ above ↑ for its usage. What’s more, it can also be used with certain verbs. You conjugate it using the stem (drop 〜ます) and attaching「〜っぽい」.

example: 忘れます → 忘れ (drop〜ます) → 忘れっぽい (add〜っぽい) = forgetful

Please note that「〜っぽい」itself can also be conjugated.

example: 忘れっぽくなる = becoming forgetful

That’s all there is to it! Try it yourself!

      ありがとう!ちょっと注意点があるだけど:「面白っぽい」はダメで、形容詞だから「〜っぽい」はいらない。これを名詞や動詞と使えばOKです。

        うんうん、わかった。
        まぬけな・・・動詞や名詞や形容詞なども混乱した・・・
        とにかく、「~っぽい」を使ったら、何形容詞ですか?「い」形容詞と思うけど・・・
        男っぽい女の子?悪魔っぽい雲?

        うん、「い」形容詞です。「男っぽい女の子」や「悪魔っぽい雲」はOK。
        example: 熱っぽくて、苦しいです。(I’m feverish and not feeling good.)
        動詞 = verb
        名詞 = noun
        形容詞 = i-adjective
        形動 = na-adjective
